Application Example - Doctor's Co-operative
Doctors co-operatives can typically generate 70,000 call-out sheets per year, all of which have to be kept safely in case they need to be referred to at a later date.
The new Doctors Co-operatives Archiving Module (DCAM) for Kendata's Information Archive Server (IAS) provides a simple and cost-effective means of filing and searching call-out sheets electronically, on-line.
Not only does this allow users quick and easy access to any call out sheet from their desktop PC, it also frees up valuable office storage space.

Storage Paper to Electronic The DCAM module converts your call out sheets into easily retrieved, portable electronic documents, which can be stored on, near, or off-line. These documents can be printed, zoomed, or even emailed using simple windows commands. Easy to use The intuitive interface allows the user to scan sheets into the Kenda Information Archive Server (IAS) where they are stored. The IAS server will then store the documents either locally or on removable media such as CD-R or DVD for a permanent record. Flexible Batch and single page scanning provide flexibility, and allows multi-page documents to be easily built up and archived. Auto indexing reduces the need for manual intervention helping to speed up the storage process. |
Retrieval Intelligent Searching Intelligent searching allows the user to quickly access these documents from which they can produce a hard copy, or distribute them electronically. Secure The system is safeguarded by standard Windows NT security preventing unauthorized users from accessing sensitive files. Browser Based Browser based retrieval gives flexible access to the archived material in an industry standard portable document. This means that the retrieval environment is familiar to anyone who has ever browsed the Internet, reducing the need for complicated training of end users. |
